"Muzzy Luctin, a quartet of seasoned Marshall-jockeys,whose new CD, Symptoms Of A Simple Life, has all the punch and polish of the latest work by platinum-selling hard-rock saviors like Puddle Of Mudd and System Of A Down.....they're ready for the next level, and if the smallest break comes their way, they've got the tunes and the commitment to take full advantage of it."

"So far, the Muzzy Luctin story appears to parallel the histories of countless nationally renowned acts, garnering exceptionally strong fan and radio support throughout the region. The success of their first single, Sugarfly, could very well be a preamble to further success. In any case, with the date of their first album release now securely in the past, Muzzy Luctin promises to continue to be a significant force in the area's music scene."

"Madison's Muzzy Luctin has been kicking around the city for a few years, building a following and finding it's sound. These shows (two CD Release Parties 2-23-02 at The Annex in Madison) celebrate the release of Symptoms Of A Simple Life, the slick hard-rock band's debut full-length. With it's radio-ready rock sound, it seems only a matter of time before Muzzy Luctin takes a step into the big leagues."

"Every once in a while a band hits the scene that just knocks you out! Muzzy Luctin is one of those bands...If Jane's Addiction and Stone Temple Pilots had a baby, it would be Muzzy Luctin...WMAD believes in this band and it's exciting to hear their stuff on the air knowing they've got "it" and have the potential to hit nationally. LOVE THEM!"
"They laughed at Lynard Skynard. They laughed at Mother Love Bone (or, if they didn't, they should have). They even laughed at Nerf Herder (okay, bad example). And they might laugh at Muzzy Luctin. But the joke will be on those naysayers, because this scrappy band is on to something. Example: 'Sugarfly'. Just when you think you're listening to another rap/metal hybrid the tune takes a left turn down melody lane; you may find yourself unable to get the refrain 'Whatever makes you happy' out of your head for weeks. But if 'Sugarfly' is tailor-made for modern rock radio, check out the dark side of Muzzy Luctin on songs like 'Heroin'. On this hazy, narcotic number a cascade of notes pulls the listener under. And you can practically feel the rain start to fall in the dead-of-night stroll that is 'Domino'. In 'Better Not Say' elements from the Golden Age of Grunge - effects-laden guitars, dramatic end-of-my-recording-contract vocals - converge with melodic hooks and ambitious atmospherics. And on 'New World' a rush of words collides with powerhouse drumming and the kind of uncompromising guitar action that propelled Pearl Jam into the upper echelon of 20th century rock icons. And 'You Should Have Known Me Better' shows the Muzzy boys know how to craft a radio-friendly pop song while keeping their distinctive sound intact. Muzzy Luctin. Ask for it by name. And wipe that smirk off your face.

"...Madison's most innovative, original, creative and let's just say rockin' band!!!! We play Muzzy Luctin whenever we can on 101.5 WIBA-FM in Madison, and usually get more requests than we can handle! We love these guys..."
"Muzzy Luctin and 'Sugarfly' are as good as it gets local or national!!! Seeing this band live will convince any record label that Muzzy has the goods to take it to the limit. 'Sugarfly' has proven to be one of our most popular songs even though it wasn't on a regular playlist (we're waiting for their official full-length CD release). It is such an appealing and energetic track that even our rival stations WMAD and WIBA have played the heck out of it.

If this CD doesn't bring Muzzy Luctin the respect they deserve, somebody (hello record label representatives out there) isn't doing his or her job. Madison rock band Muzzy Luctin is poised to take the next step - now if they can just get their new CD, "Symptoms of a Simple Life" into the right hands. It's criminal not to give it a listen...

"Sugarfly has everything a good rock song needs. A good guitar riff, vocal lines  to remember and good musicianship perfectly featured in a heavy production. If Muzzy Luctin keep this good work going and write a few more smashers, i don't see why they shouldn't get a European record deal at the least. Muzzy is a major candidate to be placed on Rock Hard's next best-unsigned bands compilation CD."

This Song Will Make It
Its hard to find songs that actually capture you from the beginning to end, but I must admit this song did. The spoken word idea is great, bringing out more originality than most bands can't comprehend. The instrumentation is well arranged, with special attention to the drumming. PLEASE give me more of your stuff so I can show people what real music sounds like.

Review of "So Am I" by: Animus from Flagstaff, Arizona

If one talks about Muzzy Luctin, one speaks of a force to reckon with! It’s a band consisting of members from a number of bands such as “Last Crack”, “Inner Sanctum” and “Magic 7”. Muzzy Luctin has made its appearance on local radio stations with one of their hits called “Sugarfly”. The last year Muzzy Luctin has been traveling trough New York showing themselves to Record Labels, and Touring around doing concerts with bands like “3 Doors down”. Besides being spotlighted in the German Rock hard magazine, “Sugarfly” was announced “best Unsigned bands CD”, this is reason enough to respect them. They Just finished up their first Full-length release “Symptoms of a Simple Life” at Sleepless Nights Studios in Madison, WI with some help from guitarist Paul Schluter as a technican and as producer. What to say about the cd? Well, It opens with and energizing and ritmic track called “Vinegar”, only to be topped by the second track “Better Not Say Now”. Which by my saying is the best track of the album. After this “Sugarfly” swings by, and the somewhat more mellow, yet catchy “Something About You” and “River” come along. Muzzy Luctin combines modern and Timeless Rock influences with skin-piercing vocals, after 2 years of hard work Muzzy Luctin has a CD out with an easily high enough quality to meet the commercial standards of a big Record label. Featuring many potential singles, of which some have already hit the air, one might say they are a commercial succes. Taking their experience and songwriting skills into consideration i am convinced it shouldn’t take too long before Muzzy Luctin will explode into International spotlights.

"The fact that i instinctively want to draw immediate comparisons between Muzzy Luctin and nationally known, major label bands really says something about the potential of the band. On a local level they stand heads above the rest on just about every level. Their tunes are so memorable I can't get them out of my head, nor do i want to..."

Even though they have only been together a short time, Muzzy Luctin already has enough history for a VH-1, "Behind the Music." Muzzy Luctin will be hard to miss. Not that this super primed outfit could stay secret for very long; with their history of blistering, buzzcock blasts of musical mayhem and industrial strength, rock 'n' roll razzle dazzle, it was only a matter of time before Paul, Darren, Mike and Ken pulled it all together and struck gold...
